Look in the bottom right of the image.  That bright red “V” is what ABC thinks is good marketing; free marketing.  Oh but it cost them a lot in the end as many LOST fans swore never to watch “V”.

Let me ask a question.  Why does ABC and most other broadcasting companies put their logo as a grey semi-transparent watermark? Because you don’t really notice it.  So why do they put a RED F#@%ING V ON THE SCREEN?  Because they know LOST fants are a captive audience.  My apologies to the people who make a living creating “V” but I am not watching it.

It’s ridiculous.  I know I am watching ABC; anyone watching LOST know they are watching ABC but that have to have a RED F#@%ING “V”, a countdown, and the ABC logo.  They couldn’t even remove the ABC logo.

They won’t show the “V” during commercials but we are are subjected to it.  Without us there are no advertisers.

Hey ABC, let’s think this through.  You want viewers to tune into your show. LOST fans can easily be expected to give it a shot. You want to have a successful relaunch so how do you get LOST fans to show up at 10:00?  How do you gain good will?

You run the countless ads you have been running for a week.  You don’t piss us off.  How do you test a new idea like putting a F#@%ING ”V” on my screen? You listen to Twitter in the first 10 minutes and pull the plug when everyone is bitching about your stupid experiment that some idiot told you to try that doesn’t even watch TV.  No one who is a fan of TV or LOST, much less a thoughtful business person, would tell you to put A F#@%ING RED “V” on the bottom of my screen.

Pop-up ads are rarely used anymore because they are universally hated.  A common complaint on MySpace is the auto play for music.  Firefox has add-ons that stop auto plays. 

I am sure you have stats that show where your users originate their websurfing.  Do you think autoplaying your noisy commercials are appreciated by anyone much less someone at work who may or may not be allowed to surf your site?   Your commercials are typically louder than the typical YouTube videos.  Loud noise usually cause a pattern interrupt and I am sure some are annoyed when this happens on your site.

Just as popups and forced registration annoy many, your site annoys me and I surf it much less than any other broadcast website.  I check ESPN for Fantasy Basketball ideas.  I have bookmarked that site because I don’t want to go through the two clicks where you autoplay a part of Sportscenter, the same part, on the first two pages.  So where I may have learned something about what you have on your schedule tonight, I now skip it entirely and haven’t been to your main page in months. 

ABC.com is worse because it seems that your videos play especially loud and because I don’t go there often I am usually caught of guard.  You know the research of creating and maintaining pleasant emotions and rapport.  These two sites fail miserably and bet you don’t stay inline with CBS.  FOX and NBC don’t count because HULU.com takes some of their traffic.

So Faraday did change time by talking to Desmond?  This may explain his flashes while Desmond was on the beach with Charlie.  But Richard knew that he wouldn’t know John Locke in the past so I am not sure or maybe Richard Alpert is immune.

Have they found that the time jumps are consistent?  Maybe 108 minutes?

Why do they learn to speak Latin when they come to the island?  Everyone else seems to speak English or maybe those are the people that Richard answers to.

These shows need to be 3 hours long like a basketball game.

Is Faraday not his real name?  The librarian didn’t recognize it.  He asked Richard Alpert what his name was instead of answering with his own name.

Why Latin?  Is Richard Alpert  and his friends immortal and Latin is original language?

This exchange at the door with Desmond won’t end well.  Nope it didn’t.  That is why the janitor mentioned about “what he did to that girl”. 

Widmore is involved.  Hmmmm.  I hate that I can’t remember each character’s name.

I thought Faraday is the mother of Charlotte before and I am more sure now.  That is why he loves her.

Did Desmond really just barge into Widmore’s office?? I thought the point was for Widmore to think he was dead.  Cool, a black book in a black box. 

Oh snap, he just called him Widmore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap.  That is what I love about Lost.  When you get a big revelation like that it gives you chills.

I really thought Locke would give the name Jeremy Bentham.  Wonder how they get there.

I realized, looking at my new crush today, that she looks a lot like Mary Ann, the classic image of wholesome beauty from Gilligan’s Island. Here are photos of when they were young.  Sarah was runner up in 1984 as Miss Alaska.  Of course I won’t vote for any of them.  I am writing myself in. TWIST in ’08!

Who is Jeremy Bentham besides the new name for John Locke? Wikipedia has some thoughts. Though I am curious why they never refer to him as Locke in the flash forward.

The Panopticon is a type of prison building designed by English philosopher Jeremy Bentham in 1785. The concept of the design is to allow an observer to observe (-opticon) all (pan-) prisoners without the prisoners being able to tell whether they are being watched, thereby conveying what one architect has called the “sentiment of an invisible omniscience.”

Bentham himself described the Panopticon as “a new mode of obtaining power of mind over mind, in a quantity hitherto without example.”

Now I have always said that the coffin looked small to be a man. We are about as tall as our arm span. When Jack puts his hands down on the coffin it seems that his arms would spread longer than the distance of the coffin which has to be bigger than the size of the person. Did Locke have his legs amputated? Would his healing have stopped or reversed when he came back?
